Our Story

“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life” Confucius

Our centre is privately owned by Cathy Creighton and Linda Ramsden. Not only are we sisters but teachers who share a genuine love and passion for the child care profession. Cathy started the kindergarten in 1984 as a small 3-5’s centre and moved to our existing premises in 1994. Linda joined her sister in 2001 and in 2004 we extended the premises to cater for the under 2’s as well.

We have a strong belief in providing children with a holistic education and are inspired by both the Reggio Emilia and Rudolf Steiner philosophies which we have implemented throughout the centre’s practices for many years.

Together with our staff our aim is to thoughtfully plan and create a harmonious and balanced day catering for each individual child’s wellbeing and inspiring them to gain a love of learning through play and imagination.

Cathy’s passion lies in children’s environments and providing a home-like feel throughout the centre. She encourages the staff and children to love and respect their spaces creating a sense of rhythm, balance, calmness and overall sense of harmony and wellbeing.

Linda’s passion is with the arts and meditation. She mentors the staff and works with the children in our art studio. She is an avid reader and inspires and trains the staff in professional development.

Our Manager Sara-Jane, non-teaching Director Jess and Assistant Director Brooke, have all been working with us for over 10 to 20 years.

We have a strong connection to nature and the outdoor environment and believe that children should be given many opportunities to connect with and experience the natural world and to thoroughly enjoy the different types of learning and play it offers.
