Staff

The skills, knowledge and attitudes of staff have a strong impact on the quality of a centre. We have a high proportion of staff with formal qualifications, many staff currently enrolled in courses and highly skilled assistants whose philosophies and experience reflect our approach at Jacaranda. We have higher than required staff: child ratios in all of our rooms.

We believe in a team-based approach whereby staff work collaboratively to create a positive working and learning environment. Each person’s unique contribution is valued. We are dedicated to providing good working conditions, opportunities for professional development, open communication and support for staff to encourage lasting relationships between them and the centre.

Management

Jacaranda Cottage is a private centre owned by two trained teachers, Cathy Creighton and Linda Ramsden. Cathy has been operating high quality Long Day Care Centres in North Sydney for over 20 years. Linda is a trained primary school teacher with experience teaching Pre-school to Year 3. Education is our passion and our aim is to run a personalized, high quality centre for children and their families.
